The country's largest, busiest airport is in the capital Athens, handling over 15 million passengers. Other major international airports in terms of passenger traffic are located in Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Rhodes island, and Corfu.

Athens and Thessaloníki handle most scheduled international flights however during high-peak season, several charter flights arrive daily from many European cities to many of the islands and smaller cities on the mainland.
